Cool Christmas Songs

Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon

All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred
&
we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit become a child again at Christmas-time...

Jingle Bell Rock Challenge

I am writing this post while listening to a Christmas song, “Jingle Bell Rock.”
As I have been listening to this song over and over for the past days, I come to appreciate the upbeat melody and playful lyrics. It makes me feel like a child again.

I am actually memorizing this song and the reason why I am into it now is because of our Christmas party presentation. There are four of us in the group and we are planning a song and dance number (yeah right!)

Jingle Bell Rock Lyrics

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun.

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bell chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air.

What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh

Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock

Mix and a-mingle to jingling feet
That's the jingle bell rock.

And our inspiration for our piece is the Jingle Bell Rock presentation from the movie, “Mean Girls.” Yeah that famous, cute, and sexy dance number. Watching it makes me feel real sorry for Lindsay Lohan – she’s so pretty and talented, I would really love to see her change for the better and regain all that she had before.

Anyway- back to the Christmas party performance- whenever we practice, I contemplate feigning sickness on the day of our party just so I can escape being a subject of humiliation.

But what the heck- all of it is just for fun and I am going to try singing and dancing even if I have wooden dancing skills (lol). Part of me is also hoping our group wins (yeah there’s a cash prize for this!). I just hope my officemates would be kind enough not to catch our performance on video.

I love holidays. Who doesn’t? During these days, I don’t have to wake up at 5am (would wake up around 6:30-7am), can have that rest and relaxation I need and I can bond with my daughter and husband—all that and I am still being paid. So I think it is understandable that this early, I am already curious about the official list of the 2012 holidays.
