I have lots of thoughts in my mind lately because of the fact that I would soon be giving birth. Where will I give birth, how will I give birth, how much will it cost, what are the things that I need to prepare, the tasks at the office that needs to be finished before I take a leave. Well it is easy to be overwhelmed but I’d rather take it one day at a time and relax. Besides it seems that so far my pregnancy is fine and healthy.
I went to my OB yesterday for a checkup and she said there is nothing to worry about. I am fine and so is the baby. I am also happy that I have gained weight because I lost a few pounds during my first trimester. So far I am not manas and also have no stretch marks- I am quite proud of that fact. I don’t know, for some reason my tummy is not so itchy. I think it is because of the St. Ives Body Wash that I am using and I also apply virgin coconut oil every day.
I have also started inquiring about hospital rates. In Polymedic hospital in Mandaluyong, birth packages range from Php35,000 to Php41,000 plus other additional fees that would depend on the condition of the mother and baby. I am yet to inquire rates of other nearby hospitals. I also need to prepare my Philhealth form so I can use it. I need my Philhealth ID or member’s data record, proof of contribution and Philhealh claim form 1 to be signed by my employer before I take a leave
Well, there are still other things to think about and prepare but with God’s help, I would be able to accomplish all of them before I give birth.
I took an arts and humanities subject back in college and I really enjoyed that class. The professor was great and I learned a lot from her- made me appreciate art more. One of our class activities back then was visiting art museums and. She would made us look at the art pieces, made us choose the best painting for us then let us interpret and draw it too.
The drawing part was a challenge because I am not a great artist- but I was surprised because I was able to do it and I even earned a grade of 1 for that! I
I was so proud of that art work then and whenever I remember that, it made me want to visit art galleries again.
I miss visiting an art gallery because art calms me and the beauty of the masterpieces as well as superb talent of the artists made me appreciate life more. Such is the works of a great artist named Dino Rosin. His works are featured in a full service art gallery in Los Angeles. This art gallery also offers paintings to the public at dealer prices. If only I have the money and resources, I would gladly visit this art gallery and even purchase some art pieces. It would surely be great experience.
I was tagged by Deeto take this quiz that lets people know their name if they were born in different era. I find it cool and apparently if I was born in the 1950’s then my name would be completely different. I find this site useful because I am still searching for a name for my baby. I already have one name in mind but it is still not final yet.
All I can say is that I love my current name better. Let me share my 1950’s name:

There really is no place like home so we all want a house that will let us be as comfortable as we can. A good housekeeper makes sure that a house is clean, organized, stylish, spacious, and more importantly pests-free.
No one wants to share their residences with pests such as rodents, cockroaches, termites, ants, and yucky rats. After less than 5 months of blogging, I am happy to announce that. Swirling Thoughts now has a page rank of 2. After being page rank 0 for months, I was ecstatic when I found out that my blog was finally promoted in the land of search engines.
I discovered this when I log in to a site that pays bloggers to write reviews this morning and was surprised to see that many opportunities are available to me.
When I checked my rank in google page rank checker, I saw that I now have a blog page rank of 2! This is definitely good news worth blogging about! I will strive to maintain and even improve this rank.

I will give birth soon and I want to be prepared and know what to expect Let me share this information to all pregnant women out there like me. I got this from an old magazine and find it very useful.
Stage One:The Early Phase
Feels Like:
I’d been having contractions- they were noticeable but not regular. My stomach would get tight, and I’d feel a dull throb. When I walked, it felt like the baby’s head was pressing against me, and she might fall out if I moved my legs too far apart.
What’s happening? Regular contractions caused your cervix to begin effacing and dilating. The contractions get closer together and more intense, lasting up to a minute each. You may notice whitish or pinkish mucous discharge- that’s normal.
Lasts: 12-14 hours or longer for first-time moms.
Survival Tips
üDon’t clock watch- Obsessive timing wears you out
üDrink plenty- It’s easy to get dehydrated.
üHit the bathroom- It gives your baby room
The Active Phase
Feels Like:Suddenly the pain really hit. My body felt like it was being twisted in the middle, and I could feel the pain in every part of my body. I was surprised by how much my back hurt- I hadn’t expected that.
What’s Happening? Contractions get more intense and more frequent. If you hadn’t already called your OB, do it when painful contractions lasts 60 seconds or more every 5 minutes for an hour.
Lasts: 6 or more hours. Usually longer for first time moms.
Survival Tips
üKeep moving. You may find it more comfortable to walk during contractions.
üGet wet. A warm bath or shower can speed up labor.
üAsk for relief. Research suggests this stage may be the best time to start pain relief.
Transition:
Feels Like: I was shaking all over and felt like I was going to throw up. It felt like there was no space for contractions anymore. I got dizzy because I forgot to breathe.
What’s happening? This is the most intense stage of labor. By its end, your cervix is fully dilated. Contractions which are very strong come about every 2 minutes and lasts a minute or longer. You may feel dizzy, nauseated, cold, angry, or dislike being touched.
Lasts: From a few minutes to a few hours.
Survival Tips
üAsk for help. This is the most intense part of labor so ask for encouragement or pain relief if you need it.
üDo some preparatory talk. Remind yourself before contractions start that the hard part ends.
Stage Two:
Feels Like: The pain didn’t stop, but it became bearable. I’d heard about pushing but didn’t realize how intense it would feel. Before I felt controlled by the pain, but now I can control it.
What’s happening? Your baby pushes through the birth canal, causing intense pressure. Contractions spread out; you can rest between them. You may feel a burning sensation as your baby’s head stretches the perineal tissue. Stage two ends when your baby is born.
Lasts: From a few minutes to a few hours.
Survival Tips
üKeep trying. Move around until you find a comfortable position.
üTake it easy. The decent may take a while. Let your uterus work before pushing.
üEnjoy it. These moments are magical.
Stage Three
Feels Like: I was excited to see my daughter that I barely noticed what was happening.I felt a few mild contractions, almost like aftershocks. I was shaking all over- but I felt so happy seeing my daughter that I didn’t care.
What’s happening? Contractions push your placenta away from e uterine wall and through your birth canal. The hormone changes can make you shake or feel cold.
Lasts: 10 minutes on average
Survival Tips
üFall in love. Your brand new baby can be the best coping mechanism.
üSpeak up. If you’re cold, ask for blanket. If you’re sore, ask about pain relief.
