Explaining My Long Absence

I admit. I really have something to be guilty about! I can’t believe that I have neglected my blog for almost two months. What a shame! You see I have really been so busy and I also have to deal with terrible internet connection.
From the time that my maternity leave ended and I started working again, it seems like I always wanted to update my blog but alas there is always something that gets in the way. Like office work that needs to be done, baby stuff that Sophie needs, gifts that needs to be wrapped, some major decisions that I need to think about, part time work with a deadline, etc, etc, etc. I really really apologize for not being able to post a Merry Christmas greeting (makes me feel like a pagan).
I really had to juggle being a mom, wife and a career woman and it’s not so easy. But now more than a month after I went back to work and the holiday season is over, I seem to be getting the hang of it. I am now ready to get this blog running again. So I m back to the blogging world and I promise to be more diligent with my blog updates!
Movies I Missed

For some reason, I am in the mood for reminiscing lately and suddenly I wanyt to watch old movies- movies that remind me of my childhood. Now that I have a child, I am thinking that I want to watch the movies of my childhood with my daughter someday. These are some of the movies which is a biog part of my childhood
Alice in Wonderland
This is the first movie that I ever saw in a betamax during the 80’s-- haha guess my age. I watched this film with my cousins and I love the part when Alice grew so large and cried. I find Alice so gorgeous then and until now.
Beauty and The Beast
I fell in love with this Disney movie that I watched in a cinema (again with my cousins and sisters). I enjoyed every bit of the story and I find Beast adorable. Would you believe that I even find Beast look more handsome than the Prince look when he transformed.
Never Ending Story
Another movie that I watched in a betamax as a child. I think it started my interest in books and reading. As a child, I am always imagining that the characters in the books I read are real. I find the Childlike Princess so beautiful!
Sound of Music
Again, another movie I saw in a betamax and this made me wish I can sing really well. Love al the songs in the movie though it is very long for me. I always end up sleeping before its over so I am not so young already when I saw the ending of this one ( laughs) The So long farewell scene is my favorite part of the movie.

Sophie at 2 Months

How time flies! Sophie is already two months old and she has shown so much improvement since the day she was born. I take care of her and delight in seeing her grow day by day. Her sleep hours are longer and it seems like she can recognize me and her dad now because she’s always smiling. She coos and gurgle a lot too like she has so much to say already. I think I need to relax some more as a mommy because I sometimes panic when she cries out loud especially during immunizations though I know it is for her own good.
Here are some of Sophie’s pictures:

Gifts For My Daughter!

Last month, a package from the US arrived for Sophie. It is from my sister who works and lives there. The large box contains lots of cool baby things like toys, clothes, and baby stuff! Here are some of Sophie’s new things.
These cool clothes will really look so nice on Sophie.
This Leap Frog toy is so educational. It plays songs and rhymes that teaches numbers and colors. It also plays classical music.
And I am so happy for this Fisher-Price kick and crawl aquarium.
I also get to have a Victoria’s secret and Elizabeth Arden perfumes!
Thanks to my ate for being so generous!

A Piece Of Me This Month

Notes from the Tooth Fairy started a new game last Nov 1 called A Piece Of Me. Bloggers who want to participate needs to share a piece of herself every first Sunday of the month by answering five questions. I find it such a neat game so I am joining it. For this month here’s my entry:
This month....
I like: to open a savings account for my baby as well as buy additional items she needs like clothes and accessories. For myself, I need to go to the salon for a haircut, hot oil treatment and a manicure and pedicure.
I don't like: post natal depression. I guess I am having one lately, because there are times when I would just cry because I feel ugly, inadequate as a mom, etc.
I want you to know: that I am trying my very best to be a good wife to my husband and a good mother to my daughter. It’s not so easy because it requires lots of sacrifice. But I know that however hard it may be, it is worth it.
I've planned: to go back to work next month.
I want to say to someone special: To my Husband- thank you for the understanding and patience and I am sorry if I can be real cruel sometimes. For a first time dad, you are really doing great!

Being a Mom Is the Best Job in the World

For a week now, I am busy taking care of my daughter full time. My aunt who used to help us take care of Sophie had to go back to her family and as of now we are still in the process of finding a nanny.
If I used to be so afraid to be left alone with my baby, I guess after a week I can say that I am slowly getting used to it. I now know how to change her diaper and clothes, how to properly hold her and how to make her burp. The only thing I am afraid to do alone is giving my baby a bath. Fortunately my other aunt is there to help me in this one.
I am also getting used tp my baby’s daily routine. In the morning after feeding her, we would expose her to morning sunlight for a few minutes then I would give her her vitamins. After that she would sleep a little for about an hour and when she wakes up, it’s time to give her a bath. Sometimes she would poop around this time too. After a bath it’s time for a feeding again and then she would fall asleep for an average of 3 hours. When she wakes up, she is sure to be hungry so I would make sure her milk is ready. At times she would again poop so I would change her diaper and sometimes change her clothes.
She would sometimes go back to sleep but most of the time, she would stay awake and until the time when my husband comes home from work which is around 6pm. I would hold her, play with her, talk and sing to her softly.
I enjoy taking care of my baby though it can be very tiring. I find time to relax and rest when my daughter is asleep. I would sleep watch tv, read a book or listen to music.
I now fully realize the true meaning when one says that being a mother is a 24-hour task. It is a job that requires your full attention and energy. But I am also realizing that being a mom is indeed the most rewarding job in the world. My reward after a tiring day--- when my daughter gives a satisfied look then smiles sweetly. All of my tiredness seems to go away and I feel recharged!
