I am not really into basketball. If there are times when I become fascinated with the sport, it is just because I got influenced either by my classmates, former dorm mates or relatives who are basketball fans. Well I have become a fan of San Miguel team back in elementary days but I don't really follow and watch all of the games. In high school, I got hooked in Chicago Bulls for a while because of a cousin who is always talking about Michael Jordan. And in college, I got interested in basketball because of UAAP. I lost interest quickly because unfortunately the UP maroon team is always losing. This time though, I became interested with the fight between Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. Most of my guy officemates followed the games and placed their bets on their chosen team. My husband likes Miami Heat and so I watched the game hoping they will win. What makes them more likeable is the fact that their head coach, Erik Spoelstra has a Filipino blood. As so many Filipinos tuned in this NBA championship, I am not surprised to see his name included in the most searched list of Yahoo Philippines these days. He is said to be the first Filipino American head coach in the NBA and the first Filipino-American head coach of any North American professional sports team. To those who want to know more about Erik Spoelstra, click here. Even if Miami Heat lost, I still support them because of their coach that makes me proud as a Filipino. Nevertheless, I don't think my fascination with basketball will ever reach a higher level because Miami Heat lost the championship to Dallas. |

Sad Love Quotes
Posted in
Wednesday, June 15, 2011
I am making this post now because of one of my officemates just watched a romantic movie and started ranting about how sad his love life is (again!). Suddenly he is mindful of every love song that is played in the radio and how the lyrics suits him so well. To make matters worse, he also started posting sad love quotes in his Facebook wall. It is not the first time he had done that and I quite admire the fact that he is not afraid to express himself. Even if it would mean brutal teasing from my other officemates. You see every time he post cheesy messages on FB, most of my office mates started wondering about his true gender preference. Well I just find it funny and weird especially because of all the people in our office, I seem to be his favorite confidant. He loves sharing to me his love life and love thoughts. And I always tell him that I am quite a gay magnet. I have lots of gay friends in high school and he doesn't seem to mind. I know this post is quite nonsense, just really want to write and share. And maybe I will also share to him this Twitter account that post nice love song quotes. |
I Think I Need a Sunglass

You know I am proud to say that I used to have a 20/20 vision. I don’t need to wear any glasses to see everything clearly. Unfortunately, the last time I visited an eye doctor was years ago so I am not sure if my vision is still perfect. Besides, I often suffer from eye strain nowadays because of spending too much time in front of a PC. I think I need to visit an eye doctor soon and maybe he’ll give me prescription sunglasses.
If ever that happens, I wanted my eyeglasses to be made by Zenni Optical. This sunglasses manufacturer makes it possible for consumers to order sunglasses online. They are the leading sunglasses store online and all their products boasts of high quality.
In case my vision is still okay, I think i still want to order an eyeglass as it is essential for proper eye care. As even on a rainy season, the heat can still be so intense here in Manila, I would love to have eyeglasses with tinted lenses as protection from ultraviolet rays.
As I rarely have time to shop, Zenni Optical is the perfect eye store for me because I can always order online. They have all kinds of glasses; bifocal or progressive eyeglasses, fashion sunglasses, eyeglasses with tint etc. What’s more, the quality of their products are matched with affordability as one can have $6.95 prescription eyeglasses.
Is June 13, 2011 a Holiday?

Wednesday, June 8, 2011
It's a rainy Wednesday afternoon and once again, here I am wishing it's already Friday. I am pretty sure that majority of my officemates are thinking the same thing. In fact, I think that almost all of the Filipinos who are at work or at school today are wishing that tomorrow is a rest day. And true enough, a keyword that is trending in Yahoo search today seems to prove my earlier statement. I checked Yahoo Philippines site today and saw that the keyword "june 13, 2011 holiday" is trending. It means many Filipinos are hoping for a one day off at work next week. It should have been another long weekend- an opportunity to spend quality time with my daughter and hubby and get that much needed R and R. But alas- the current Philippine president is KJ (lol). I did my own research and found out that June 13, 2011 is a regular working day. Apparently, MalacaƱang announced that Sunday, June 12, 2011 will remain a regular holiday (113th Independence Day) and that it will not be moved to Monday, June 13.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said, "We have holidays that were moved to the nearest Monday but there were also some not moved primarily because these celebrations are meant to stay on that day. June 12 was not moved." Oh well, I just have to wait for the June 20 holiday then. |
Group Buying Sites

Group buying sites are one of the in things nowadays. And since I am someone who dig freebies and discounts; it’s no surprising that I am a member of three group-buying sites.
Most of the deals offer huge discounts, some as much as 80% off so it is tempting to grab the offer. Though of course, it is still advisable for one to be careful in purchasing deals. One should first weigh if the deal (even with the discount) is really something they need or just something they want. I think it is easy to be a compulsive shopper in group buying sites. One should also read the terms and conditions of every deal carefully to see if the deal would really give them their money’s worth.
I have purchased deals from two of the three sites I joined so I would like to share a short feedback here in my personal blog.
Buyanihan.com- This is the first group-buying site I joined, but I haven’t purchased any deal from them yet. This is because I find most of their deals expensive. Some are hotel and resort packages that are available for four pax. Their deals also require a number of buyers before the deal will be available. They offer referral credits though and also hold contests from time to time where members can win cool prizes.
Ensogo.com.ph: Of the three group-buying sites that I joined, I think Ensogo.com.ph is the best. Their deals are varied from expensive to cheap. Users also get money credits for every purchase which they can used to purchase new deals. They also offer lots of options for one to pay. They also have a referral program and users will get Php100 credit once the invited friend purchased a deal. I invited my husband to join and he purchased a deal but the Php100 is still not credited to my account. They said they are still verifying the purchase. I also don’t like their voucher because I would be ashamed to give it as a gift as the name ensogo would be there. I wish they can provide a voucher that hides the name of their site.
one personal blog you may want to visit: Henrik Stigell
Metrodeal.com. They also have exciting deals and many are affordable. I like the fact that they offer an option for users who doesn’t have a printer. Metrodeals offer an option where one can simply take note of the voucher code instead of printing them. They seem to have a referral program too but I can’t find a link in my account on how I can send an invitation.

Nursing is one of those professions where comfort is given much importance than class/elegance. Thus explains the flat shoes, no-nonsense and loose nursing scrubs. Nurses are required to dress as plainly as possible- minimal accessories, light make-up, no manicure/pedicure and simple hairstyle. But of course it doesn’t mean that one can go around the hospital looking like a rag.
It is a good thing that there is a company that supplies designer nursing uniforms- the BlueSkyscrubs.com. They provide beautiful nursing scrubs in different designs that are guaranteed to make one feel beautiful while performing a noble duty. And in spite of the high quality, the price is affordable.
As most nurses are pretty busy, BlueSkyscrubs.com made it easy for them as one can conveniently order online. They also offer a money-back guarantee for unsatisfied customers. To all nurses who want to feel good by wearing cool nursing uniforms, check out BlueSkyscrubs.com for stylish and cheap scrubs.
