Marking My Calendars

Time does fly even if one is waiting for something or someone. One minute the day you’ve been waiting for seems ages then all too suddenly it’s over. I think such is also the case when one is pregnant. I can’t believe that I am now in my third trimester and my pregnancy days would soon be over. Well I still have about 2 months to go before giving birth but I am sure the days would pas by like a flash.

My baby’s kicks and movements are getting stronger and more frequent now especially at night. My husband and I think that she is already playing inside. Also according to my OB, the earliest date I can give birth is August 22 though that is unlikely to happen. From her calculations, the most likely date for me to give birth is September 5. So I have put a large circle on September 5 on my calendar. Knowing myself, I would probably be a little paranoid when that day arrives. I plan to take a leave on August 28 but my doctor advised me not to take a maternity leave too soon as being active would help to ease the pain of labor.

Anyway, me, my husband and my whole family is eagerly anticipating the arrival of our princess. My husband and I are excited and ready to take on the challenges of parenthood. With God’s help, we hope to be the best parents for our child.

Get the Best Offer on Direct TV

Television is still the cheapest way to get entertained nowadays. A world without TV seemed unthinkable because it has become a part of our daily lives. Though relatively cheap, we still want to get more from it. We want more channels and better TV programs. Here in the Philippines, one will probably think of cable television to enjoy better TV experience. But in America, satellite television is the in thing nowadays. So if you or someone you know is in America, don’t forget to recommend to them the Dish Network. It can be that they are being left behind by their neighbors because almost all household in US nowadays are using DirecTV.

With DirectTV, they can be sure that hey will get the best value for their money because they are not only the best when it comes to customer service, they also offer more variety in programming and pricing than any other.

Abdominal and Back Pains

I don’t feel so good at the office right now- it is because of this intense burning pain in my upper abdomen. This has been bothering me for weeks now. The weight of my belly is also giving me backaches that make even sitting uncomfortable. I also have numerous tasks to finish and a meeting to attend to later.

I am just so uncomfortable right now- that I find myself counting the hours until I am out of here again. Just like in my first trimester- I can’t wait to go home and rest.

Well I try to relax by procrastinating a little. I googled upper abdominal back pain during pregnancy and got some insights. Some comforted me while most stressed me out-some say it is caused by a stretching ligament, or may be a symptom of eclampsia or appendicitis, etc.

Well, what’s clear is that it is not something I should ignore. I need rest so I am going to sleep early tonight and will consult this with my OB on my next visit this Saturday. By the way, here’s a link to an interesting blg post and discussion I found no the net about upper abdominal back pain during pregnancy:

Fetal Kick Count Chart Starts Today

My OB said that one way to know that my baby is healthy and fine inside my womb is to take note of the movements. She said movements indicate that she is doing fine.

Apparently there are two common ways to record fetal kicks. One is Cardiff Count to Ten Method. This is an 8 to 12 hour period that records at least ten of your baby’s movement. The time you choose depends on when you think your baby is most active. The baby can be more active in the evening or a few hours after a meal. If your baby has 10 movements within a 12 hour period, then baby is in good health. One must chart at the same time everyday.

Second, is the One to Two Hours Method. This is done while lying down on your left side for 30 minutes after eating without distractions. After an evening meal might be ideal time to record. Baby should move 10 times within an hour to 75 minutes.

Here are some tips on counting fetal kicks:
• Wait until 28 weeks before beginning this testing.
• Prepare your chart = time of day on the left and days of the week on top.
• Choose a time of day your baby is most active.
• Ask your doctor or midwife for variations of testing.

Using the 1-2 hour method, I am starting to record fetal kicks today and I am using this chart:

Happy Birthday Honey!

My husband is celebrating his birthday today. We both have work so we will celebrate it tomorrow at home. I was a little worried these past few days because I don’t know how I can give him a gift. You see, he is always with me now wherever I go so I have no way to go to a mall secretly and purchased him a gift. Good thing is that an officemate offered me an avon brochure and that is where I chose a gift for him—a hand massager. It is a simple gift and I will give it to him later. Hope he likes it.
