Eager to Participate in Earth Hour 2011

The task of doing something to help save our dear planet need not be so gigantic or difficult. It is as simple as turning off the lights for one hour one day in a year. I am glad there is an annual event called Earth Hour that lets ordinary people like me do something for the environment. My family was able to participate in Earth Hour last year and would be so glad to do it again this 2011. That time, our house seems to be only one that is aware about that event. Hope more people would participate in our area this time. Show your love for Mother Earth and help spread the word.   Switch off your light for one hour this Saturday.   Earth Hour 2011 March 26, 2011, Saturday 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.   A Bit Background About Earth Hour   Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome's Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.   Earth Hour is organized by WWF. With almost 5 million supporters and a global network in over 100 countries/territories, it's one of the world's largest and most respected independent conservation organizations.
